The pedipalps shown here are a bit swollen. This is normal in mature male tarantulas, since this indicates that the pedipalps are laden with sperm in preparation for mating. (You can tell that this tarantula is a mature male due to the mating spurs on its forelegs. These spurs are not visible in this particular photo, unfortunately.) | |
